Gratitude – 101

There is so much talk about gratitude these days, we are surrounded by it.   I remember years ago I spent hours writing sayings in a beautiful journal for my mother. I had an angel stamp so I sprinkled gold angels randomly through the journal. I thought it looked beautiful and inspiring.   I was going through a creative phase at that point and I was busily making things for people.   My mother was a negative woman and I was trying to give her some positives to focus on to help her change her mindset.   When I found […]

The Christening Gown

Years ago when I was going through a creative phase I decided that I would like to make a christening gown for my future grandchildren and maybe it could be passed down to their children. As an only child, of an only child, of an only child, with two cousins who lived on the other side of the world, I lived with no other family around me than my mother and father. I had missed terribly the big families of which I read in the many books into which I immersed myself. I had a best friend who was […]

What is it we get out of travelling?

My husband and I have just returned home from a six week trip to North America. We drove through the stunning scenery of the Canadian Rockies and stayed in some beautiful towns (Banff was my favourite); cruised up the Inside Passage and got close to glaciers; visited Vancouver, Seattle and then flew into Kalispell, Montana and stayed at Big Fork, Montana while I studied for a week with Vianna Stibel, founder of ThetaHealing®; then last, but not least, we spent a week in New York (the highlight of that for me was seeing Bette Midler in Hello Dolly, she was […]

You do it because you feel better when you do

When I first started meditating more than 30 years ago I found the whole concept fascinating and I wanted to learn more. As I searched I discovered that there were all different ways of meditating, including going away for 10days and spending that time in silence. As I had four children, was working full-time and paying the bills was our main focus 10 days away didn’t seem like an option. I must say that the silence didn’t appeal to me at all as I had spent too much time unable to speak when I went to boarding school at the […]

What a difference a week makes

This time last week I was in the coronary care ward at St Vincent’s hospital.   I had been taken there by ambulance after going to the nearest medical centre with severe chest pains.   As it was Easter when I was admitted to the hospital I had to wait until the Tuesday to have the extra tests needed to check for any damage or obstruction to my heart.   It was a tense time waiting.   Meditating and ThetaHealing is what kept me sane… and focusing on a positive outcome   The ‘all clear’ was a huge relief. Don’t ‘build a bridge’ ~ dig up the foundations instead

I don’t know about you but I remember people telling me to ‘build a bridge and get over it’ (one of my all time hated sayings), change your thoughts, focus on the positive etc, etc … I understand what they mean now (and I still don’t agree). But back then in my BEFORE life (before ThetaHealing®) I had a negative soundtrack going on in my head 24/7 that I could not shut up. Much as I hated it, I seem incapable of stopping it.   Years later when I was in the recovery phase I acknowledged that the first thing I always […]
